Touch of chartreuse goes a long way
It's not a basic color for your country home. You have to have edgy tastes to make it a central theme in your wardrobe. And for many in the older generation, the hue triggers memories of '60s appliances and zany pop art clothes.
Yet chartreuse is an oncoming color straddling the gap between home and fashion, according to Elle Decor magazine.
Vogue shows Undercover's pale green long leather gloves this month. Mossimo uses it in a fall corduroy pea jacket for Target. It's part of the palette for Prada's argyle sweaters.
It's also on the palette forecast from Pantone's color consultant Leatrice Eiseman as a "Finishing Touch."
Chartreuse is one of the "attainable luxuries that speak of quality and elegance" in a home, Eiseman writes in her trend report. In short, small doses are more sophisticated.
