Recent mechanical engineering graduate Thomas G. Diamond of Poland received the Donald R. Burrowbridge Award for Outstanding Performance in Cooperative Engineering Education. He also received the National Society of Collegiate Scholars award and the Tau Beta Phi Engineering Honor Society award.
The graduate of Poland Seminary High School is the son of Tom and Sophie Diamond. He works at the Hoover Co. and plans to pursue a master's degree in business administration at UA.
CASE WESTERN RESERVE, Cleveland
Biology major Jeff Kidd of Boardman, who begins his junior year this fall, recently completed a 10-week summer session of bioengineering and bioinformatics at the University of Pittsburgh. He also was awarded a CWRU Alumni Association scholarship.

Senior nutrition and dietetics major Jamie L. Smith has completed a two-year internship through the coordinated program in dietetics at YSU. She received the Mahoning Valley Dietetics Association and the Ila Jean Feldmiller scholarships and is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership society and the Golden Key National Honor Society. The Leetonia High School graduate is the daughter of Steve and Bonnie Vrabel of Washingtonville.
DENISON UNIVERSITY, Granville
Junior theater major Elena Perantoni of Canfield will spend the fall semester off campus, studying with the Ohio Wesleyan University's New York Arts Program in New York City. The 2001 Canfield High School graduate is the daughter of Cynthia Perantoni and John Perantoni, both of Canfield.for maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average. A 2001 Boardman High School graduate, he is the son of Tom and Lynn Kidd.
