Travel agency gets grant
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Anderson Coach and Travel has been awarded a $161,792 federal grant to aid in security enhancements and training for its motorcoach and charter bus systems.
The money to improve security for bus operators and their passengers came from the Department of Homeland Security through the Intercity Bus Security Grants Program, said U.S. Rep. Phil English of Erie, R-3rd.
The program is designed to expedite the installation of security measures for over-the-road buses.
Investigating fatal crash
LIBERTY -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-car crash that killed an unidentified man. Officials say the car caught fire shortly after the vehicle hit a tree at Loganway and Ravine about 4:43 a.m. Thursday. The body was badly burned, and officials are trying to identify the man, troopers said. The vehicle was speeding when it hit the tree, reports state.
