Township book outlines land-use plan
NORTH LIMA -- Beaver Township residents will soon be able to purchase a book detailing the township's new comprehensive plan.
The cost of the book and a compact disc that's also available will be set by township trustees at their Sept. 9 meeting.
Trustees, at their monthly meeting Tuesday, considered charging $20 for the book and $5 for the compact disc, as recommended by Michele Swope, township zoning inspector.
However, trustees said they were concerned the cost for the book was too high and asked Swope to look at the costs of similar publications and to use those prices as a guideline.
A steering committee began working on the comprehensive land-use plan in March 2002. The trustees adopted it last month.
Among other issues, the plan addresses how land in the township is to be used and how environmentally it will be managed.
It also looks at the most effective ways of coordinating transportation, maintaining facilities and services, and maintaining and increasing the township's economic base.
The book and compact disc will available at the township's administration office. For more information, call (330) 549-3993 or (330) 549-9295.
