SHARON Youngstown motorist faces charges in hit-and-run accident

SHARON, Pa. -- A Youngstown man was jailed on $50,000 bond after his arrest in a hit-and-run accident that injured a Hermitage motorcyclist.
Edward A. Dobran, 48, of Forestview Drive, Youngstown, was arrested at the Mahoning County Jail on Saturday on a warrant charging him with hit and run, reckless driving and driving at unsafe speed.
Police said he had to be extradited from Ohio.
He was arraigned before District Justice Lawrence Silvis, who ordered him held in Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing.
Police said Dobran was the driver of a car that hit Joseph Mihalcin, 52, of Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, from behind at the Shenango Valley Freeway and Service Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. July 17.
Both vehicles were westbound and Mihalcin had stopped for a red light. Dobran failed to stop and hit the motorcycle, knocking Mihalcin down, police said. Mihalcin was admitted to Sharon Regional Health System at the time.
Witnesses got a description of the vehicle.
