2 players just miss hitting for the cycle
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) -- Lou Collier and Trace Coquillette each singled, doubled and homered as the Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Buffalo Bisons 6-4 on Saturday night.
Ryan Rupe struggled though the first three innings but went on to pitch 62/3 innings to earn the victory. Rupe was charged with four runs and seven hits.
Steve Woodard notched his second save. Pawtucket's Cesar Crespo was 2-for-4, including his ninth homer.
Lance Caraccioli pitched 51/3 innings and allowed six runs and nine hits for the loss.
The Bisons took an early lead in the first when Alex Escobar hit a two-run homer to left-center, his league-leading 24th. Pawtucket tied it 2-2 in the second on solo homers by Coquillette and Crespo.
Buffalo regained the lead in the fourth on Brandon Phillips' double and Greg LaRocca's single. But the Red Sox tagged Caraccioli for three runs in the sixth to take the lead.
