SCRAPPERS NOTEBOOK From Cafaro Field

Community relations: Scrappers third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff and radio broadcaster Greg Gania took part in Friday's Canfield Little Cardinals baseball camp at McCune Park. Kouzmanoff and Gania spoke to the 100-plus players and parents and then signed autographs. The event was set up by Canfield assistant coaches Al Thorne and Tod Thorne. Al Thorne is also the Scrappers' official scorer. "I really enjoyed seeing a professional taking his time out there and giving back to the community," Thorne said. "We as a coaching staff were in awe that somebody actually came, because usually they don't. He's one of the best third baseman to come through the area." Canfield head coach Tony Ross directed the week-long camp.
Back in action: Second baseman Anthony Lunetta returned to the lineup after nursing a sore shoulder. Lunetta had been sidelined for over a week.
Surprise, it's raining: Light rain began to fall in the second inning, forcing many fans to scatter for cover. The rain increased in intensity and lasted about 40 minutes before subsiding. The game was not delayed.
Win two tickets: Gania, who broadcasts the games for WNIO-AM (1390), wants fans to submit questions for the Ted Kubiak pregame show. If fans' questions are selected and read on the air, they will win two free tickets to an upcoming Scrappers game. To submit questions, e-mail Gania at ggania@mvscrappers.com.
Upcoming schedule: The Scrappers will be home through Tuesday. They begin a three-game set with the Staten Island Yankees tonight. The promotion is Saturn Customer Appreciation Day, and the first 1,000 fans will receive a logo baseball. Adam Brandenburg (1-2, 3.96 ERA) will pitch tonight for the Scrappers. He'll be followed by Juan Lara (1-3, 4.40) Sunday.
