YOUNGSTOWN -- Public libraries in Mahoning County are collecting old inkjet or laser print cartridges to sell for refurbishing, bringing the libraries additional funds.
The libraries also collect discarded magazines, cardboard, mixed office paper and discarded batteries.

Lake Hamilton clean-up
STRUTHERS -- The local Rotary club will have its annual Lake Hamilton clean-up day Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The public is invited to join club members and members of the Struthers High School Interact Club and Boy Scouts in cleaning debris from the lake shore.
Lisbon contractor jailedfor larceny, fraud in N.Y.
MONTICELLO, N.Y. (AP) -- A Columbiana County contractor has been handed a maximum 5- to 15-year prison sentence for bilking 15 subcontractors and suppliers out of more than $115,000.
John Miller, 51, of Lisbon was convicted in May of 33 counts of grand larceny and scheme to defraud. Miller was the general contractor of a construction job in Liberty, N.Y. In 2002, the project owner paid Miller $145,000 for work and materials. State law requires general contractors to put those funds into escrow, but police said Miller diverted them into his own account.
Sullivan County Judge Frank LaBuda also ordered Miller to pay $115,443 in restitution.
Two church treasurerscharged with stealing
HONESDALE, Pa. (AP) -- Two church treasurers -- Nancy Ann Swingle, 54, and Nancy Gilbert, 49, of Moscow -- face up to seven years in prison if convicted of felony theft of stealing from their churches.
Wayne County District Attorney Mark Zimmer said Swingle stole more than $70,000 over a nine-year period from St. John's Episcopal Church in Hamlin. Gilbert is accused of taking $55,000 from Bethany United Methodist Church in Bethany over six years.
