MIAMI -- Brad Johnson and Shaun King took turns directing a Tampa Bay offense that totaled 134 yards in the opening quarter against Miami's first-team defense.
Johnson directed a 45-yard touchdown drive following a turnover, and King, the backup, led a 14-play, 74-yard touchdown march. Michael Pittman scored for Tampa Bay on a 6-yard run, and Joe Jurevicius caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from King.
Third-string quarterback Sage Rosenfels drove Miami 80 yards for a touchdown with 23 seconds left, but his 2-point conversion pass was incomplete.
Defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay improved to 2-0.
"We're like a different offense compared to this time last year," Pittman said. "It's a good time for us."
The game was the preseason opener for Miami.
Brian Griese started in his Dolphins debut and went 6-for-8 for 45 yards, with both incomplete passes coming when Chris Chambers dropped the ball. Griese was sacked by Shelton Quarles and Dewayne White.
The Dolphins' first-team offense was shut out until their fourth and final possession, when Griese moved them 57 yards against Tampa Bay's second-team defense. Chambers dropped a third-down pass, and Olindo Mare kicked a 27-yard field goal.
Griese started in place of Jay Fiedler, who sat out after missing two days of practice this week with back spasms.
"I would have liked to get in the end zone," said Griese, who signed with Miami two months ago after five seasons in Denver. "I have a long way to go still, but I feel pretty good about my progress."
Johnson was 3-for-6 for 41 yards, and King was 8-for-12 for 72 yards.
"I'm very pleased with how the offense came out and played," Bucs coach Jon Gruden said.
Tampa Bay rookie Chris Simms was 4-for-10 for 36 yards with an interception. He directed a 56-yard touchdown drive.
The Dolphins lost four players to injuries in the first half. Linebacker Eddie Moore, Miami's top draft pick, hurt his left foot. Fullback Rob Konrad (right hand), backup tight end Ed Perry (left knee) and reserve receiver Sam Simmons (neck) were also hurt.
Bucs reserve cornerback Torrie Cox sprained his left knee in the fourth quarter.
Tampa Bay's Dwight Smith set up the first score when he recovered a fumble by Randy McMichael at the Dolphins' 45. Pittman beat Junior Seau for a 28-yard reception. Mike Alstott converted a fourth-and-1 with a 2-yard run, and Pittman scored on the next play.
Raiders 7, Rams 6
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Kurt Warner can spread the warning to the rest of the NFL's quarterbacks: Charles Woodson is healthy and hungry again.
Woodson intercepted Warner on the Rams' first series, and Madre Hill rushed for 63 yards and a score as the Oakland Raiders beat St. Louis in both teams' colorless exhibition opener.
St. Louis fourth-stringer Kirk Farmer threw a 9-yard TD pass to Cam Cleeland with 6:13 to play, but the extra point was blocked by Raiders rookie Shurron Pierson.
Woodson missed the Pro Bowl last winter for the first time in his five NFL seasons after injuring his shoulder, leg and groin. The injuries reduced him to a shadow of his Heisman Trophy-winning self, keeping him out of eight regular season games and forcing him to play at half-strength in the playoffs.
On St. Louis' opening drive, Warner missed his target -- and Woodson alertly changed his coverage to pick off the pass, returning it 15 yards.
"It felt good," Woodson said of his first game this summer. "It's the time of the season where everybody is ready for football. Any time you get a chance to get your hands on the ball, it feels good, so hopefully I'll get a bunch of those this year."
Anthony Dorsett also had an interception for the AFC champions. Rod Coleman sacked Warner to kill the Rams' second drive, while Eric Johnson and rookies Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and David Moretti also had sacks.
Marc Bulger was 11-of-16 for 104 yards for the Rams, who got off to another weak preseason start following last season's 0-4 showing.
