Fleiner dominates
MANSFIELD -- Youngstown State senior Jennie Fleiner won the 2003 Richland County women's golf tournament by 14 strokes.
She had an opening-round 78 at Pebble Creek Golf Club and shot 74 at Twin Lakes Golf Course to card 152.

Canfield team loses
HAMILTON -- The Canfield 9-10 Little League baseball team lost 8-5 to Elyria East in the state tournament Wednesday.
Danny Reese, Brock McGivern and Anthony Gelonese had RBIs for Canfield, which was in the loser's bracket championship game against Cambridge or North Canton today.
NABF tournament
STRUTHERS -- The NABF Major Division regional baseball tournament will be held at Cene Park, starting today.
Twelve teams are entered, including Salem Pathology, the Youngstown Class AA league champion, and Bud's, the league runner-up.
Sachire wins firstmatch of tournament
GODFREY, Ill. -- Ryan Sachire, seeded second in singles competition, defeated Dennis Zivkovic, 7-3 (3), 2-6, 6-3 in the first round of the USTA Men's Futures Tennis Tournament Wednesday at Lewis and Clark College.
Sachire, of Canfield, was seeded No. 1 with Raven Klaasen in doubles and the duo defeated Nick Monroe-Nathan Price, 6-2, 6-7(8), 7-6(7) also in a first-round match.

YOUNGSTOWN -- WKBN-AM (570) and WNCD-FM (93.3) will broadcast Cleveland Browns games, beginning with Saturday's exhibition game against Tennessee.
Pittsburgh Steelers games will be heard on WICT-FM (95.1) and WBBG-FM (106.1), including Saturday's game against the Lions.

Mount tops OAC polls
TWINSBURG -- Three-time defending national champion Mount Union was again picked by coaches and media as the favorite to win the Ohio Conference.
The Purple Raiders, who have won seven Division III championships in the last 10 years, received 34 of a possible 35 first-place votes from the media in the voting on Wednesday and the maximum nine from the OAC.
Mount has won at least a share of the last 12 OAC titles.
Both polls picked Baldwin-Wallace to finish second.

AKRON -- Grady Sizemore had a two-run homer in the first inning and a two-run shot in Akron's five-run eighth as the Aeros beat the Erie Seawolves 9-4 Wednesday in Eastern League action.

MILWAUKEE -- Terry Porter was hired as the new coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Porter worked last season as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings, his first season in coaching after a 17-year playing career.

CHICAGO -- A man who along with his son attacked a Kansas City Royals coach during a game last fall was sentenced to 30 months of probation.
William Ligue Jr. also was ordered to perform community service and remain in a substance abuse program.
