YOUNGSTOWN Police on GRIP patrol make 4 drug arrests
YOUNGSTOWN -- Officers working Gun Reduction Interdiction Project details arrested four men late Thursday and early today on drug charges.
GRIP, which includes local, state and federal law enforcement, targets high-crime areas in the city. The project began in late June.
Jeffrey K. Lynn, 27, of Upland Avenue, was arrested on charges of aggravated trafficking in cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia (scale). Jessi Hudson, 31, of Elliott Lane, was arrested on a charge of drug-abuse marijuana. He was released on a citation.
Police spotted Lynn and Hudson in the parking lot of a South Avenue bar at 9:30 p.m. Thursday and, suspecting they were trying to break into a car, stopped to investigate. A large plastic bag of suspected marijuana was found on Hudson, and three bags of suspected powdered cocaine, $1,181 and plastic scale were found in Lynn's pockets, reports show.

George R. Williams, 21, of Lee Street, was arrested on charges of trafficking in marijuana and drug abuse of crack cocaine. Police said Williams was pulled over for failing to signal a turn onto Thornton Avenue just past midnight. Police seized four packaged bags of marijuana and a bag with three small rocks of suspected crack from the car.
Robert West, 25, of South Prospect Street, was arrested on a charge of drug-abuse cocaine. Police were in the Rosewood Lane area just before 1 a.m. today in response to complaints about drug activity. Police confiscated three rocks of suspected crack found in West's car.
