SCRAPPERS NOTEBOOK From Cafaro Field

Roster move: The Cleveland Indians promoted relief pitcher Reid Casey to Class A full-season Lake County. Casey held the closer role with the Scrappers. In 16 appearances, he had a 1-2 record with a 3.06 earned-run average and a team-high seven saves. Casey is in his second professional season. While at Rookie-League Burlington last year, he went 2-4 in 17 games with a 3.46 ERA. "It's left us pretty thin," manager Ted Kubiak said. Kubiak added that his pitchers need to bear down and take advantage of their time on the mound, especially with Casey's departure. "We have to start staying focused," he said. "It's the time of year when we have to step up and do some things."
Familiar face: Outfielder Jonathan Van Every has joined the Scrappers, marking the third straight season he has been with the club. He had been with Lake County earlier this season. Van Every has played four games with the Scrappers this season, batting .200 (2-for-10).
Win two tickets: Scrappers radio broadcaster Greg Gania of WNIO-AM (1390) wants fans to submit questions for the Ted Kubiak pregame show. If fans' questions are selected and read on the air, they will win two free tickets to an upcoming Scrappers game. To submit questions, e-mail Gania at ggania@mvscrappers.com.
Upcoming schedule: The Scrappers will be home through Monday. They finish their two-game set with Batavia tonight before playing host to the Staten Island Yankees. Tonight is Buffett Night at Cafaro Field. "Fins to the Left" will be performing in the Bullpen Bar and Grille. Golf towels also will be given to the first 1,000 fans, 15 and older.
