The cruise port of Galveston will get its biggest ship to date in fall 2004 when the Grand Princess begins sailing a seven-day itinerary.
The 2,600-passenger Princess Cruise Lines ship will offer 22 round-trip departures beginning in mid-November and continuing through April 9, 2005. It will visit Belize City, Belize; Costa Maya, Mexico; Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico.
The ship will offer a nine-day sailing over Christmas and New Year's Day, which will also visit Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
World barbecue contestplanned in Jamaica
U.S. states may argue about which has the best barbecue, but now the competition is going international.
Barbecue will be sizzling at Sunset Beach Resort & amp; Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica, as it hosts the 2003 World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest on Sept. 19 and the 2nd annual International Jamaica Jerk Style/Southern Barbecue Cook-Off on Sept. 21.
Last year's international cook-off attracted 100 entrants from at least 10 countries.
It's the world's largest pork barbecue contest and was previously held in Memphis.

The world's earliest civilizations about 5,000 years ago in Mesopotamia -- present-day Iraq -- are the focus of an exhibition through Aug. 17 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
"Art of the First Cities: The Third Millennium B.C. From the Mediterranean to the Indus" showcases more than 400 rare works of art from about 50 museums in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The art, including sculpture, jewelry, weapons, inlays, cylinder seals and tablets, was selected to show the quality and influence of Mesopotamian art.

Dream Cruise to showcars of '50s and '60s
PONTIAC, Mich. -- More than a million visitors are expected at the Woodward Dream Cruise, a celebration of cars and music of the 1950s and '60s scheduled for Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Thirty thousand vehicles -- including magnificent classic and custom automobiles -- will be on display along a 16-mile route that includes nine host cities: Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac and Royal Oak.
The Dream Cruise is billed as the world's largest one-day celebration of car culture.
