GIRARD
Aug. 1
Theft: A woman discovered a picture, a checkbook and assorted papers missing from her vehicle in the 200 block of Elruth Court.
Theft: A woman in the 800 block of Lawrence Avenue alleged that three people stole a $200 pearl ring and a sapphire ring from her residence while she conducted a moving sale.
Burglary: A woman in the 200 block of West Prospect Street discovered her living room window open and a Sony PlayStation 2 game system stolen.
Theft, recovered property: An 18-speed mountain bike stolen from a residence in the 800 block of Mosier Road was recovered near Liberty Park.
Vandalism: A man reported that someone wrote on an exterior wall of his garage in the 100 block of East Prospect Street.
Breaking and entering: A man in the 100 block of West Liberty Street reported that four men broke into his apartment and stole his wallet.
Theft: A man reported his wallet taken from his vehicle parked in his driveway in the 600 block of East Liberty Street.
Recovered property: Police recovered a stolen 1999 GMC Jimmy in the Kuzman's Bar parking lot, 1025 S. State St.

Theft: A man reported his cellular phone missing from his vehicle in the 10 block of Smith Court.
Vandalism: A Niles woman reported that someone threw a rock at her vehicle, breaking the driver's-side window and damaging the roof.
Assault: A New Castle, Pa., man alleged another man pushed him and tried to stab him with a kitchen knife when the victim visited a residence in the 300 block of Glendale Avenue. The second man alleged that the first man tried to shoot him.
Identity theft: A woman in the 100 block of Elruth Court discovered that someone fraudulently used her Social Security number when she called Ohio Edison to have power at her residence turned on.
Aug. 3
Theft: A woman in the 300 block of Forsythe Avenue reported a 20-inch bicycle stolen from a shed in her back yard.
Vandalism: A woman reported that someone in a vehicle tossed an egg at her boyfriend's car in front of his residence in the 500 block of Hazel Street.

July 28
Theft: Someone removed a black go-cart from a back yard in the 1600 block of Lucretia Drive.
July 29
Theft, recovered property: A tow dolly stolen from Consumer Car Co. Inc., 5925 Belmont Ave., was recovered in the Liberty Racquet Club parking lot, 4200 Logan Gate Road.
Criminal damage: Someone used red and orange spray paint on a vehicle in the 1500 block of Wilson Avenue.
Criminal damage: Someone shot out a street light near Edwards and Liberty avenues.
Theft: A woman in the 900 block of Goist Lane reported an Xbox game system missing from her residence. She also discovered that someone used her check card to make a $10 transaction at Giant Eagle without permission.
Theft: A woman reported her wallet and $150 stolen from her purse while she was at The Encore Shop, 4427 Logan Way.
Theft: A woman in the 5300 block of Lakeview Drive reported $200 stolen from her residence.
July 30
Arrest: After determining that a 1995 Honda Civic was stolen from Columbus, police arrested a 29-year-old Youngstown man at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave., and charged him with receiving stolen property.
July 31
Theft: An employee at Colortyme, 3103 Belmont Ave., reported that a woman used a stolen check to rent a TV, a two-piece living room set, a three-piece table set and a crystal lamp.
Theft: A woman reported her cellular phone stolen from her yard in the 900 block of Goist Lane.
Vandalism: Someone destroyed five hanging baskets at Garden Square Plaza, 3677 Belmont Ave.
Vandalism: Someone pulled a toilet from a wall, bent its pipe fitting and separated an electrical panel from a pavilion's wall at Church Hill Park, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Criminal damage, theft: A woman in the 3500 block of Denver Drive alleged that a man damaged her vehicle's trunk lock and removed an amplifier and speaker box from inside.
Aug. 2
Criminal damage, attempted theft: Nothing was missing from a vehicle after someone damaged its steering column and smashed a passenger-side window. The car was parked in a yard in the 10 block of Paxton Drive.
Theft: Police found that someone removed four large framed pictures from the Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, and placed them in a vehicle.
Assault: A Hubbard woman reported that a man got out of a car and slapped her several times while she used a pay phone at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.
Criminal damage: A woman in the 500 block of Ventura Drive alleged a friend kicked her vehicle after she refused to allow him into her residence.
Auto theft: A 1990 Toyota Camry was stolen from the Colonial Plaza parking lot on Belmont Avenue.

Criminal damage: A man in the 900 block of Ravine Drive reported that several people knocked down a light pole at the end of his driveway.
Criminal damage: Someone damaged a window at a residence in the 100 block of Haviland Drive.
Possible theft: A woman reported her cellular phone lost or stolen at Jesus Is the Way Ministries, 319 Goldie Road.

Burglary: A man in the 30 block of Louise Lane reported that someone broke into his residence through a living room window. A .22-caliber rifle he reported stolen was recovered.
Criminal damage: A woman reported that someone damaged a soccer net in her yard and tossed a metal object into a swimming pool at her residence in the 2800 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.
Truck theft: A 1985 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck was stolen in the 4700 block of Logan Way.
Burglary: Nothing was missing from a residence in the 900 block of Colonial Drive after someone tried to break in through a window.
Assault: A Northview Boulevard woman at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, 500 Gypsy Lane, alleged to police that her former boyfriend punched her in the face several times. She had various bruises.
Burglary: Nothing was missing after someone fled the basement to a residence in the 900 block of Colonial Drive.

July 31
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Christian Avenue reported two bicycles stolen from his residence.
Aug. 2
Criminal damage: A woman reported her boyfriend's vehicle's rear windshield broken in the 100 block of Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
Assault: A girl, 17, reported being assaulted while she was in the Taco Bell parking lot, 730 W. Liberty St.
Theft: A woman in the 100 block of East Water Street reported that an envelope containing money was lost or stolen from her residence.
Criminal damage: Someone spray-painted a vehicle and a yard in the 30 and 40 blocks of Fox Street.

Burglary: A woman in the 30 block of Mock Street reported that someone tried to break into her residence.
Theft: Someone removed a 30-day temporary tag from a vehicle parked at Auto Zone, 420 N. Main St.
Aug. 4
Theft: A woman in the 40 block of East Park Avenue reported some property missing from her residence after volunteers cleaned her home after a flood.
