Schedule: Today, qualifying (Speed Channel, 3 p.m.); Sunday, race (NBC, 1:30 p.m.).
Track: Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International (permanent road course, 2.45 miles, 11 turns).
Race distance: 220.5 miles, 90 laps.
Last race: Kevin Harvick won the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He had no trouble holding off Winston Cup points leader Matt Kenseth, rookie Jamie McMurray and teammate Robby Gordon on a 10-lap shootout to end the race.
Last year: Tony Stewart drove his Pontiac to a victory at Watkins Glen International, beating Ryan Newman by 1.636 seconds for his 15th career victory and third of 2002. Stewart was fined and put on probation for punching a photographer the previous week.
CRAFTSMAN TRUCKS
Federated Auto Parts 200
Schedule: Today, qualifying, 1:30 p.m., race (Speed Channel, 9 p.m.).
Track: Nashville Superspeedway (tri-oval 1.33 miles, 14 degrees banking in turns), Gladeville, Tenn.
Race distance: 199.95 miles, 150 laps.
Last race: Rookie Carl Edwards stretched his gas to win the Power Stroke Diesel 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Edwards, in his first complete season with Roush Racing, needed every drop of fuel in his tank to hold on for his second win in the past four races. His engine began to sputter on the final lap.
Last year: Mike Bliss won a mad dash to the checkered flag and won his fourth truck series race of the 2002 season, at the Federated Auto Parts 200. Bliss overtook Ted Musgrave on a restart with 10 laps to go before fending off charges from Rick Crawford and Musgrave on a green-white-checker restart.
Next race: O'Reilly 200, Aug. 20, Bristol, Tenn.
CHAMPIONSHIP AUTO RACING TEAMS
Mid-Ohio Grand Prix
Schedule: Today, qualifying, 2:50 p.m.; Saturday, qualifying (Speed Channel, 1:30 p.m.); Sunday, race (Speed Channel, 2 p.m.).
Track: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (permanent road course, 2.258 miles, 13 turns), Lexington.
Race distance: 207.736 miles, 92 laps.
Last race: Bruno Junqueira won his first race of the season and moved atop the points standings by winning the rain-shortened Mario Andretti Grand Prix. Junqueira, who started at the pole, held a three-point lead over Paul Tracy after the race. Tracy slid off the track in the 11th lap and did not return.
Last year: Pole-sitter Patrick Carpentier led virtually from start to finish in winning the Mid-Ohio Grand Prix. Carpentier, who won his first pole in four years at the event, averaged 106.680 mph to hold off Christian Fittipaldi by 3.2 seconds. Michael Andretti was third.

INDY RACING LEAGUE
Emerson Indy 250
Schedule: Saturday, qualifying, 6:15 p.m.; Sunday, race (ABC, 3 p.m.).
Track: Gateway International Raceway (egg-shaped oval, 1.25 miles, 11 degrees banking in turns 1-2, 9 degrees in turns 3-4), Madison, Ill.
Race distance: 250 miles, 200 laps.
Last race: Alex Barron passed Sam Hornish Jr. coming out of the final turn to win the Firestone 400 at Michigan International Speedway with the fastest average speed in Indy Racing League history, 180.916 mph. Barron won by just 0.0121 seconds, the fourth-closest race in the circuit's eight years.
Last year: Gil de Ferran beat teammate Helio Castroneves to the finish line in the Gateway 250.
Fast facts: Five of the six events that finished under green this season had a margin of victory of less than one second. ... There have been seven different winners in the 10 races this season. Scott Dixon and Gil de Ferran are the only multiple winners.
