Pittsburgh airport trafficdecreases from last year
PITTSBURGH -- Passenger traffic at Pittsburgh International Airport increased 5.6 percent in June compared with May, but the numbers are still down 25 percent for the year compared with 2002. The airport reported about 1.3 million people boarded or left aircraft there in June, bringing the year-to-date total to about 7.03 million. More than 9.37 million passengers boarded or left aircraft in the first six months of 2002. Officials reported air traffic for US Airways and US Airways Express is down 29.4 percent, and other airline traffic is up 6.2 percent.
