YOUNGSTOWN Police find three stolen vehicles
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police recovered three stolen vehicles and arrested six people.
Police spotted a stolen Dodge Ram van Tuesday on Glenwood Avenue and pursued it to Rosedale Avenue. Officers found the driver's door window broken, the steering column damaged, a crack pipe in driver Robert P. Jeter's pants and a furniture cushion inside the van, reports show.
Jeter, 42, of South Raccoon Road, Austintown, was charged with receiving stolen property, no driver's license and possession of drug paraphernalia (crack pipe).
In another case, loud music led to a traffic stop on East Lucius Avenue about 11 p.m. Tuesday and the arrest of the 16-year-old driver on charges of receiving stolen property, no license and loud music. The West Chalmers Avenue boy was taken to the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center.
The boy's passengers, Madison Colmon, 19, of Brooklyn Avenue and Alonzo Bonner, 18, of Cleveland Street, were arrested on charges of complicity to receiving stolen property and taken to the county jail.
Another arrest
Also Tuesday night, police spotted an Oldsmobile reported stolen from Rochester, Pa., on Forestview Avenue and stopped it in the 1500 block.
The driver, Andre L. Maxwell, 20, of Jefferson Street, Warren was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property and driving under suspension. His passenger, Joe L. Freeman, 24, of Meadowhill Drive, Mineral Ridge, was charged with receiving stolen property. They were booked into the county jail.
