Parent of Consumers Cos.plans to change its name
BOARDMAN -- The parent company of Consumers Ohio Water Company and Consumers Pennsylvania Water Company will be changing its company name and the names of all its subsidiaries effective Oct. 10. Philadelphia Suburban Corp., the parent company, will be known as Aqua America, and its Ohio and Pennsylvania subsidiaries will be called Aqua America Ohio and Aqua America Pennsylvania. The company said the change aims to reflect its position as the largest investor-owned water utility based in the United States.
SBA offers loansfor weather disasters
YOUNGSTOWN -- Homeowners, renters, landlords and business owners in Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Summit and Trumbull counties are now eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loan assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The counties have been declared disaster areas because of damages caused by recent tornadoes, flooding, severe storms and high winds. Businesses and nonprofit organizations are eligible for low-interest loans of up to $1.5 million to repair damage to real estate, machinery and equipment inventory. Island Inkjet opensin Southern Park Mall
BOARDMAN -- Island Inkjet, a retailer specializing in computer ink-jet and laser toner products, has opened a franchise in the Southern Park Mall in Boardman, its first Ohio location. Based in Columbia, Canada, the company produces and distributes cartridges and refill kits for Canon, Epson, Lexmark and Hewlett-Packard printers. Store personnel also offer an ink-jet cartridge refill service.
