Aeros knocked off course, fall to Curve

AKRON -- Landon Jacobson evened his record with a seven-inning, three-run outing as the Altoona Curve beat the Akron Aeros 4-3 Friday night in Eastern League action.
Jacobson (8-8) walked one and struck out three while giving up two earned runs. Mike Johnston pitched two scoreless innings to earn his fourth save.
Kyle Evans (8-3) gave up four runs, three of them earned, in six innings for Akron.
Altoona was led by Shawn Garrett, who had an RBI double in the third inning and earned another RBI when he was hit by a pitch during a bases-loaded at-bat in the fifth.
Akron's Eric Crozier had a solo home run in the fifth, his 16th of the season, and Corey Smith had a solo shot in the seventh, his seventh of the season.
New Haven 5, Erie 0
WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- David Bush threw seven innings of one-hit ball to lead the New Haven Ravens to a 5-0 win over the Erie Seawolves Friday night in the Eastern League.
Bush (5-1) struck out nine and walked one as he extended his streak of scoreless innings to 20.
Scott Wiggins and Jordan DeJong each tossed one scoreless inning of relief.
Billy Munoz had the lone hit for Erie (54-59), a second-inning single.
New Haven (61-50), which vaulted back into first place in the Northern Division, has outscored the Seawolves 14-0 through the first two games of a four-game series.
