YOUNGSTOWN -- Individual game tickets for the 2003 football season went on sale today at the athletic department ticket office in Stambaugh Stadium.
Individual game tickets cost $12 for reserved seats and $8 for general admission. Fans can also purchase season tickets until Aug. 28.
Ticket office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Little Leaguestate tournament
CANFIELD -- The Canfield Baseball Club will host the 9-10-year-old Little League state softball tournament, starting Saturday at McCune Park.
Conneaut, Poland, Tallmadge, Clyde, Englewood and Wheelersburg will compete.
On Saturday, Tallmadge will play Englewood at 6 p.m., followed by Poland against Conneaut at 8 p.m.
Ursuline's Panezichselected for showcase
YOUNGSTOWN -- Cliff Panezich, a senior at Ursuline High, has been selected to attend the Blue-Grey Classic baseball showcase in Winter Haven, Fla., this month.
Panezich tied a state record on May 6 by hitting three triples in a game against Brookfield. He was also selected player of the game in the Irish's Division III state semifinal loss to St. Henry.
Davis-Droullislead Mar-Hill event
CANFIELD -- Joan Davis and Emmanuel Droullis took over the lead of the Mar-Hill Mixed Doubles Tournament as the event wound down recently.
Davis-Droullis rolled 1,462 to assume the top spot in the event at Amron Lanes. Tracy Walter and Charles Schell are 10 points behind in second while Fran Taylor and Ray Heaven stand third with 1,431. The duo of Carol Kozbial and Carl Hurd is fourth with 1,419.
Sharon Speedwayto go 'topless'
HARTFORD -- Drivers in Sharon Speedway's Gibson-Governor Insurance Modifieds and Coy Brothers Trucking E-mods divisions are going topless Saturday night -- racing without their roofs.
The convertible-style racing will give fans at the 3/8-mile dirt track a closer look at all the work that goes on in the driver's cockpit. In addition to the better view of the drivers in action, fans at Sharon during Castle Night this Saturday also will receive a free slush while supplies last.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 12-15 and free for children 11 and younger. Coolers less than 14 inches are permitted.

MERCER, Pa. -- Mercer Raceway Park will once again be the site of the E.M.S. Community "Sireeeen Rally", which will be held on the grounds Saturday night.
The event is also another Max Weiss Law Firm (Meadville, Pa.) 2003 Special Family Event. Along with a full night of racing that includes the Ken Carbone Memorial, it is also Dean Dairy Corp. Night.
Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Adult admission is $10 and the family pass is $23. Students 6-15 are $5 and children five and under are free. Pit passes are $20.

Oklahoma No. 1,Buckeyes No. 2
Oklahoma nudged out defending national champion Ohio State for No. 1 in the preseason USA Today-ESPN coaches college football poll released Thursday.
The Sooners, who beat Washington State 34-14 in the Rose Bowl to finish 12-2 and ranked No. 5 last season, received 29 first-place votes and 1,514 points.
Ohio State got 28 first-place votes and had 1,495 points. The Buckeyes beat Miami 31-24 in double OT in the Fiesta Bowl to cap a 14-0 season.
Miami was ranked third in the preseason poll with five No. 1 votes and 1,448 points, followed by Texas and Kansas State. Auburn received the only other first-place vote and was sixth, with Michigan, Southern California, Georgia and Virginia Tech rounding out the top 10.
The AP poll will be Aug. 16.
