WARREN -- Bottled water is available at several locations in Trumbull County for people whose private wells may have been contaminated by flooding.
The county health department has placed a boil-water advisory on wells in flooded areas.
Drinking water is available in gallon containers at fire stations in Braceville, Southington and Warren townships and at the Liberty administration building.
Residents can fill their own containers with water for bathing and other nondrinking uses at Braceville, Southington and Warren township fire stations.
Flood-damaged items
LORDSTOWN -- Village crews will pick up nonhazardous flood-damaged household materials at the curb Friday morning.
Residents should call the administration building, police or street department to get their names added to the pickup list.
A trash bin is available at the street department for residents who want to throw away items.
Only flood-damaged materials are being accepted.
County to searchfor new building
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners have taken the first step toward finding a new home for the county health department.
Wednesday, they authorized purchasing director Tony Carson to develop a list of specifications health department officials say they need for a new office and to advertise for sealed bids.
Carson said there has been no decision on whether the county will buy or lease space.
The county-owned building the health department occupies on Chestnut Avenue N.E. has a moldy basement and leaky roof and windows.
The concrete front steps are crumbling and have been blocked with yellow caution tape.
Dairy Mart robbery
WARREN -- Police are searching for a man who robbed the Dairy Mart on North Road at knifepoint shortly before 1 a.m. today, running off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The clerk recognized the man as the same thief who robbed the store Monday, police reports say.
The robbery was recorded by the store security camera and a witness outside wrote down the license plate number of a suspicious car.
Burglaries at churches
WARREN -- A passenger van stolen from Trinity Baptist Church on Highland Ave. S.W. was recovered in the parking lot of York Avenue Church of God Wednesday morning.
A garage at the York Avenue church was burglarized and a John Deere riding mower was stolen, police reports say.
Trinity officials said the van could have been stolen anytime since Sunday. The thief apparently kicked in the door to the garage and took the vehicle's keys.
The break-in at the York Avenue Church of God could have taken place anytime since Tuesday, officials there said.
Woman reportsdomestic assault
YOUNGSTOWN -- Kenneth J. Ledinko's live-in girlfriend told police Wednesday night he made his dog attack her, stabbed her throughout the day with a fork, punched her in the head, and repeatedly hit her with a baseball bat.
Ledinko, 47, of Winchester Avenue, was arrested on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence and was in the Mahoning County jail this morning.
Police said they found the woman covered in blood, with a 2-inch gash on her left arm and a black and swollen right eye. She was treated at a local hospital.
In July 1999, Ledinko was fined $50 in municipal court after being convicted of failure to register and confine a dog, records show.
Abduction investigation
LISBON -- The Columbiana County Sheriff's Department says there are no new developments in its investigation of a report by a 15-year-old girl that she was abducted from the Rogers Auction and Flea Market.
The girl told authorities she left work in a food concession trailer about 3 p.m. Friday to walk to the restroom when she was knocked unconscious by a blow to the head.
The girl said she regained consciousness around 8 p.m. on the edge of railroad tracks in Fairfield Township.
She walked about a mile to Crestview Road and was picked up by a passing motorist about 9 p.m., she said.
