Rock About the Rollin duct tape contest
CLEVELAND -- Sing an original song about duct tape for the second annual Duck brand duct tape Rock About the Roll Contest, and you could be the lucky individual, duet or group to win the first prize of $2,500. Other prizes are $1,000 for second place and $500 for third.
Entries may be submitted Monday through Oct. 10. For a registration form and official contest rules, visit www.ducktapeclub.com. Submitted songs from this year's event and last year's contest may be heard at the Web site. Online voting will take place Oct. 17-27. Winners will be selected based on voting and judges Jim and Tim, the Duct Tape Guys, and Todd Scott, duct tape sculptor. Winners will be announced Nov. 5.
Evening of song set
NORTH LIMA -- Sue Deutschlander will present "A Beautiful Evening of Song" at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21 at Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St.
The artist will sing and play the guitar and piano.
Irish dance competition
NILES -- The Youngstown Feis, an Irish dancing and music competition, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Sunday at Eastwood Expo Center, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road.
Students from the Burke School of Irish Dance and 750 competitors from throughout the states and Canada will participate.
