Easter Seals: Volunteers needed to be booth-sitters at the exhibit at the Canfield Fair, which runs from Aug. 27 through Sept. 1.Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation: People needed to be booth-sitters at the foundation's exhibit at the Canfield Fair.4-H Cloverbud Camp: Youths and adults needed to help with children ages 5-8 with various activities. The camp, sponsored by the Ohio State University Extension of Mahoning County, is from Wednesday through Saturday.Ivy Woods: Volunteers needed to be companions for a trip to the Canfield Fair on Aug. 29.Park Vista: People needed to be companions for a trip to the Canfield Fair on Aug. 28.
Long-term help is needed for these agencies:
American Red Cross Blood Services: Volunteers needed to help at blood drives with registration, the canteen and donor care.Beatitude House, Warren: The Potter's Wheel site is looking for people for adult tutoring, computer instruction and receptionist duties.Forum Health Beeghly Medical Park: People needed to help in the gift shop, at the information desk and with patient activities.Beeghly Oaks: Volunteers needed to distribute mail, play cards and bingo and do one-on-one visits.Big Brothers/Big Sisters: People needed as role models to mentor children 7-15 based on needs and common interests. Men are especially needed.Birthright, Tri-County: Volunteers needed to help once a week with sorting clothes and baby supplies.Citizen Corps: People will be trained to help in their community when there is a disaster. Training provided through the emergency management agency.Family Services Agency: Volunteers needed to assist clients with shopping, doctor appointments and accompanying clients on van rides as part of the FSA's adult guardianship program.Habitat for Humanity: People needed on Saturdays to be greeters at construction sites to welcome and assist volunteer construction workers.Sheridan School Mentorship Program: Adult role models needed for pupils in grades four through six. Training provided. The program begins in September.March of Dimes: Volunteers needed to perform clerical duties, handle mass mailings, make marketing calls and help with fund raising.Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic: Help needed for light yard work, greeting clients and preparing paperwork.RSVP: Volunteers needed to help with mailing and other community projects, including the Citizen Corps.Volunteer Services to Seniors: People needed to make a commitment to serve as caregivers to seniors. Caregivers would provide transportation to assist with grocery shopping and doctor visits, and also to make visits and telephone calls.
