The Columbiana County Park District is offering these programs at Scenic Vista Park, 11000 Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon. All programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the park office at (330) 424-9078:
Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m.: Dan McMillan, a biologist with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, will lead a walk through the reclaimed mined land on the park property that is being planted with a mixture of native warm season grasses and wildflowers. He will explain how these types of plantings benefit many kinds of wildlife.
Aug. 9, 10 a.m. to noon: Columbiana County Office of Litter Prevention and Recycling's third in a series of four programs this summer titled, "Having a paper party." Pre-registration is required by calling the Litter Prevention and Recycling office at (330) 424-0530. Participants will learn about the importance of recycling paper and the process behind making paper. Participants will also learn how to make paper jewelry.
