The candies will be wrapped in purple foil and sport a paper tag or "plume" that reads: "Dark."
Hershey Foods Corp. said it will spend $10 million on an advertising campaign to publicize the new line of Kisses. The company says Kisses, first introduced in 1907, may have been named for the sound or motion made by the manufacturing machine. The plume was trademarked in 1924, the foil wrapper in 1976.
