Mazzupappas mark anniversary at dinner party

XBOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Samuel F. Mazzupappa, 7541 Buchanan Drive, were honored June 21 at a dinner at Ezio's Restaurant in Poland on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the celebration were the couple's children and their spouses, Yvonne Lombardo of Tampa, Fla.; Yolanda and Chris Clifton of Tampa; Sam and JoAnn Mazzupappa of Poland; Yvette and Vince Zupo of Greensboro, N.C.; and Keith and Denise Mazzupappa of Mineral Ridge.
Mr. Mazzupappa and the former Marion Sokol were married June 20, 1953, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. He served as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Air Force at Kelly Field Air Force Base in San Antonio. He retired in 1984 after 36 years of service at LTV Steel Corp. Seamless Plant in Youngstown, where he was a head planner, then worked in the mailroom at Mahoning National Bank in Youngstown until 1994. He is a local musician who has played in the area since 1948.
His wife was a self-employed beautician prior to her retirement.
Ten grandchildren complete their family.
