XSAN FRANCISCO -- Jill Kristen Maeda and Joseph Robert Kacmarcik, both of San Francisco, were married at 5 p.m. June 29 at the Interfaith Chapel of The Presidio.
Parents of the bride are Dr. and Mrs. Mike Maeda, 15 Lumahai St., Honolulu, formerly of Boardman, who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary that day.
Mr. Kacmarcik is a son of Robert Kacmarcik of Waterford, Wis., and Christine Flynn of Racine, Wis.
Dr. Kurt Bollacker officiated, and a reception followed at the Golden Gate Club at The Presidio.
The couple honeymooned on the Grenadine Islands and live in San Francisco.
The bride wore an ivory and oyster gown with a cathedral-length veil.
Katie Nishimura was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Tamara Hadley, the bride's sister-in-law, and Julia Bavely. They wore amethyst and navy gowns.
Best man duties were performed by Sean Lapinsky, and groomsmen were Benjamin Keating and Steve Jacobs. Serving as ushers were Dr. Christopher Maeda, the bride's brother; Marty Combs; and Ben Mehring, the groom's stepbrother.
The bride, who is retaining her maiden name, holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colo., and is a major-account executive with Qwest Communications.
Mr. Kacmarcik is a senior systems administrator for Care 2 in Redwood Shores, Calif.
