Hubbard library to reopen
HUBBARD -- The public library, closed because of flooding, is to reopen Thursday. The children's room remains closed. No overdue fines will be charged for the days the library was closed for emergency repairs. Tuesday's Law in the Library lecture segment, "Purchasing a Home," has been rescheduled for Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, local artist Linda Clark will teach a watercolor course on four successive Saturdays starting Aug. 9, from noon to 3 p.m. each week.
Flood damage cleanup
LIBERTY -- The township will collect residents' flood-damaged trash from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday. No tires, hazardous materials, freezers, refrigerators or air conditioners will be picked up.

Intersection to be closed
SALEM -- The intersection at East State Street and Ellsworth Avenue will be closed for repairs starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday, city officials say. The busy crossroad will remain closed through Tuesday. Traffic will be maintained only for westbound traffic on State Street. Eastbound traffic on State will be detoured. Northbound and southbound Ellsworth Avenue traffic also will be detoured. Crews will fix cracked and sunken pavement in the intersection.
Widening work continues
BROOKFIELD -- The Ohio Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that the intersection of state Routes 7 and 82 is closed for widening. Those attending tonight's World of Outlaws race show at Sharon Speedway in Hartford should take 82 to state Route 193, then north to state Route 305, then east on Route 305 to the track.
Tutor contract renewed
NORTH LIMA -- The South Range School Board renewed a one-year contract with Faye Reed, a certified teacher who provides tutoring services to the school district. Her wage was set at $14 an hour. Reed started working for the school district last year, and her contract is to be reviewed annually.
Lutheran Church seekshelp for flood victims
WARREN -- Emmanuel Lutheran Church is looking to form a joint effort of churches to help flooding victims.
Emmanuel Lutheran Church's weekly Clothes Closet will distribute extra clothes next week.
Church members and pastors organized the effort and are looking for other churches to join the project.
Clothing will be distributed Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at Emmanuel Lutheran at 140 Cherry Ave. N.W.
Volunteers are needed. There will be a meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the church. To volunteer, donate or request more information, call (330) 373-1234.
Monetary donations can be taken to any Second National Bank branch and contributed to the Northeast Ohio Disaster Fund.
