Family dinner to mark Clarkes' 50th anniversary

XVENICE, Fla. -- The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Clarke, 552 LaGorce Drive, will be observed Aug. 22 with a family dinner party at Shakespeare's Restaurant in Ellwood City, Pa.
Invitations are being issued by the couple's children, Greg Clarke of Venice; Terry Clarke and Christine Chill, both of New Castle, Pa.; Pamela Bowers of Hurst, Texas; and Joan Mitchell and Germaine Reyes, both of Arlington, Texas.
The former Joan Vimmerstedt of Youngstown and Mr. Clarke of New Castle were married Aug. 22, 1953, at St. Edward Church, Youngstown. They have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clarke retired in 1993 as a medical secretary at Drs. Weiner and Corbet Orthopedics Association in New Castle. She is a member of Epiphany Cathedral.
Mr. Clarke served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a laborer at Crane Co. in New Castle prior to retiring in 1993. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in New Castle.
