Raid yields suspected drugs, 2 arrests; neighbors celebrate

SHARON, Pa. -- Police said the neighbors were outside cheering as officers conducted a drug raid on a home at 491 Wengler Ave. this morning.
Residents of the area had been complaining about suspected drug activity at the house for weeks.
Those complaints weren't ignored, but it took time to build a case, Capt. Michael Menster said. The neighbors were advised to be patient as police investigated, he added.
The residents saw their complaints answered when a Weed & amp; Seed raid was launched at 6:15 a.m. today.
Police Chief Tom Burke said the neighbors were outside clapping and cheering for the raiding officers from Sharon and the Southwest Mercer County Regional departments.
Menster said police secured a search warrant after a lengthy investigation and surveillance of the house.
The raid netted two arrests and suspected marijuana, cocaine, OxyContin and other controlled substances. Police also found drug paraphernalia and a 9mm semiautomatic handgun, Menster said.
The two people who live there, Arthur Hebert, 23, and Jessica Cimo, 20, were arrested and faced arraignment today on possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver and other related charges.
The residence is technically just outside the official Sharon-Farrell Weed & amp; Seed zone targeted for drug enforcement, but it did serve drug trafficking in the zone, warranting a Weed & amp; Seed strike, Menster said.
The Mercer County district attorney's office and Sharon's K-9 Unit assisted in the raid.
