MOSQUITOES

MOSQUITOES
What you can do
An added hassle of all the summer rain is the overabundance of mosquitoes, which thrive in the moisture. With the threat of the West Nile virus ever present, it seems more important than ever to help reduce the mosquito population and to protect against mosquito bites. Tips from Home Depot :
Eliminate dirty leaves and tree stumps; repair leaky pipe joints; and replace torn window screens.
Clean gutters, birdbaths, pet dishes, flowerpots, trash cans, fountains and wading pools weekly.
Avoid perfumes, lotions and hairsprays; stay indoors at dusk and dawn; and avoid dark clothing.
Use personal repellents such as OFF! or Cutter Skinsations, which contain DEET.
For your lawn, try Cutter Bug Free Backyard, Ortho Bug-B-Gone or the Mosquito Magnet.
