Burglars take cash, checks, jewelry from 2 homes, doctor's office

SHARON, Pa. -- Police are investigating the burglaries of two homes and a physician's office over the weekend.
Cash and business checks were taken from the office of Dr. Theodore Yarboro at 755 Division St. early Monday. An alarm alerted police around 3:45 a.m. but the burglar had fled.
Someone broke a window in a back door of a home in the 200 block of North Sharpsville Avenue and stole blank checks between 11:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
Police said someone cut a door screen to get into a home in the 300 block of Sherman Avenue between 2 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The residents were home at the time but one was doing yardwork and the other was in the basement. A small amount of cash and some jewelry were taken.
