COLUMBUS -- Eighteen-year-old Mike Magee became the youngest MetroStar to score a goal, tallying in the 59th minute, and goalkeeper Tim Howard made seven saves for his 13th career shutout as New York beat the Columbus Crew 1-0 Saturday.
Howard made a diving save on a 30-yard strike off the left foot of Columbus' Freddy Garcia in the 58th minute that headed toward the left corner. Howard went low to stop Brian West's close range shot in the 73rd minute.

DENVER -- John Spencer scored on a penalty kick in the 24th minute for Colorado (0-1-1). Marco Etcheverry opened the scoring for United (0-1-2) in the seventh minute.
Fire 3, Wizards 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Damani Ralph scored in the 70th minute and capped a three-goal second-half comeback for Chicago. Andy Williams and Orlando Perez each had a goal and assist for the Fire (1-0-2).
Jimmy Conrad had a goal and an assist for Kansas City (1-1-1), which blew a 2-0 halftime lead.

WASHINGTON -- Kelly Goleboiwski scored in the 68th minute as Washington tied Atlanta 1-1 to improve to 3-0-1. Goleboiwski scored just seconds after rookie Maribel Dominguez gave the Beat (2-0-1) a 1-0 lead.

CARY, N.C. -- Tiffeny Milbrett scored her first two goals of the year to help New York snap a seven-game losing streak. Christie Welsh also scored for the Power (1-3-0). Danielle Fotopolous scored on a penalty kick for Carolina (0-3-0).
