Consumers Ohio plansto build pumping station
STRUTHERS -- Consumers Ohio Water Co. will build a $150,000 pumping station on Garfield Street as part of a three-year, $6.9 million improvement plan for its Struthers division. Construction of the pumping station is to begin this summer and take about 90 days.
The company said the station will improve pressures and dependability for customers between Garfield Street and Youngstown-Poland Road. The station will be on the west side of Garfield Street between Sexton and Morrison streets.
The Struthers division serves about 52,000 people in Mahoning County. Consumers Ohio serves 260,000 in 44 communities and is a subsidiary of Philadelphia Suburban Corp.
P & amp;G offer increased
CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Procter & amp; Gamble Co. said today it has increased its offer for a controlling share in German hair-products maker Wella AG to $69.49 a share.
