GREENVILLE, PA. Wholesale business acquires warehouse in park

GREENVILLE, Pa. (AP) -- A Mercer County wholesale importing and distribution business has taken over a 200,000-square-foot building abandoned by a steel tube manufacturer late last year.
Rod Loomis, president of Loomco International in Transfer, won't say if he's leasing or has purchased the former Damascus-Bishop Tube plant in Greenville-Reynolds Industrial Park. The property will be used as a warehouse.
The tube plant employed about 135 people before it closed in December. Loomis said his warehouse will create some jobs, but he wasn't sure how many.
Loomco sells general and seasonal merchandise, ranging from home decor to lawn and garden items.
The company has 65 employees in Mercer County, and 20 more elsewhere, with offices in Youngstown, Chicago, Minneapolis, Hong Kong and Canton, China.
