World champion bull rider Chris Shivers lost his grip after 1.8 seconds on 1,600-pound Little Yellow Jacket, failing in his bid to win $1 million Saturday. If Shivers held on for eight seconds, he would have won the $1 million prize.
Little Yellow Jacket owner Joe Berger collected $50,000 for the performance at the Colorado Springs Invitational Rodeo. It was the fifth time Little Yellow Jacket has bucked Shivers. Little Yellow Jacket was last year's Bucking Bull of the Year. His career rate for unseating riders is 86 percent.
