DeBartolo scholarship applications available

BOARDMAN -- Denise DeBartolo York announced that all high schools in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties have received applications for the Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial Scholarships.
High school seniors can pick up the applications from their guidance counselor's office. All forms must be submitted to the Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Foundation no later than Tuesday.
The applications are for graduating high school seniors who may need financial aid and have demonstrated a desire to excel in the classroom and the community.
Last year, the foundation awarded six $5,000 scholarships and has provided more than $200,000 in scholarships over the past seven years.
"The goals of the foundation are to reward Valley students who have proven to be good role models and leaders the opportunity to go to college," DeBartolo York said. "My father believed that learning is an integral tool in the equation for success, and students should be afforded the opportunity to receive a college education. The foundation is committed to continuing his allegiance to education."
