PENHOOK, Va. -- Youngstown State placed sixth in a 10-team field at the Liberty/JAE Intercollegiate tournament.
YSU scored 634 on the 36-hole event. Liberty won it with a 606, trailed by James Madison (608), Cleveland State (612) and George Mason (618).
Nate Komsa carded a 79-78--157 to place 18th for YSU. Carmen DiPenti placed 22nd with a 159.
Women's tennis
PITTSBURGH -- Youngstown State lost to Pittsburgh 7-0 to drop to 3-7. Pitt has won seven in a row.
Softball
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State's Horizon League softball game against UW-Green Bay April 27 will begin 11 a.m.
The season finale between the schools will be played at McCune Park.

Road Runners Clubset for HOF ceremony
CANFIELD -- The Youngstown Road Runners Club Hall of Fame will induct three new members at the 2003 Hall of Fame Dinner on Saturday at McMahon Hall.
The new additions are Gene Chipelock of Lordstown and Garry Sullivan of Austintown, both runners with the club since 1981; and Mike Garcia of Canfield, former Austintown Fitch High coach who now is coaching at Howland High.
The reception will start at 6 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30. Tickets are priced at $14 and reservations are due by April 26.

Buckeyes at mall
NILES -- Ohio State football players Kenny Peterson and Cie Grant will sign photographs Saturday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Eastwood Mall JC Penney Concourse. Fans will be limited to two autographs per person. Cost is $10.
Walsh recruits
NORTH CANTON -- Paul Cole of Girard High was among four area high school football players and 27 recruits overall to sign NAIA letters of intent to attend Walsh University.
Cole (6-foot-4, 300 pounds), a lineman, was a second-team all-state selection and also made the All-Northeast Ohio and All-Trumbull Athletic Conference first teams.
Other area recruits were Derek Frederick (6-6, 260), a tight end from Salem; Dominic Dangelo (6-2, 188), tight end from United Local; and Christian Senk (6-1, 200, quarterback) of Warren JFK.
Mother's Hopebowling event
HUBBARD -- The Mother's Hope Foundation's third annual spring bowling event is April 5 at Hubbard's Bell-Wick Bowl from 2 to 5 p.m.

Joe's Pros win4-on-4 tourney
CANTON -- The Joe's Pros flag football team of Youngstown won last weekend's Sports Monster Northeast Ohio Go Deep 4-on-4 spring league kickoff tournament.
Joe's Pros went 5-0 in the tournament, defeating Penguins of Youngstown in two overtimes in the semifinals and Giant Eagle Riders of Canton in three overtimes in the championship game.
Team members were Joe Malys, Jason Hagerty, Jay Walker, Lance Thorton and Richie Carbenia.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, who had the fifth-most sacks in the NFL over the last two seasons, signed a seven-year contract with the Green Bay Packers. The deal, reached late Tuesday night, will bring the defensive end $37.3 million, of which $13.25 million is guaranteed, agent Bruce Tollner said.
