Wilson jubilee is celebrated at series of events



POLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Wilson, 8046 N. Lima Road, were guests of honor at a series of events held in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
A dinner party took place Aug. 29 at Bobby D's in Youngstown, and hostesses were the honorees' niece, Maureen McHugh, and great-niece, Katie McHugh, both of Cleveland.
Hosts for a family dinner Aug. 30 at the Springfield Inn in Boardman were Catherine Rousseau of Canfield and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Anderson of Youngstown, Mrs. Wilson's sisters; Mrs. Francis (Ruth) McHugh of Poland, her sister-in-law; and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas (Jane) McHugh of Poland, her brother and sister-in-law.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson held a catered picnic dinner Sept. 21 at the Mahoning Valley Gaelic Society in North Lima.
The honorees' son, Richard G. Wilson of Rocky River, gave them a trip to Pensacola, Fla.
The former Rebecca V. McHugh and Mr. Wilson were married Aug. 30, 1952, at St. Edward Church in Youngstown.
A customer-service adviser at Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in Youngstown, Mrs. Wilson retired in 1969. She is a member of Holy Family Church in Poland and its ladies guild and altar and rosary society.
Retiring in 1983, Mr. Wilson was a P.B.X. foreman with Ohio Bell. He is a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Boardman, where he is a former deacon. Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He was equipment manager for the Little Bulldogs from 1977-79.
The couple are members of Ohio Bell Telephone Pioneers.
