PREP VOLLEYBALL West Branch doubles up the City



Austintown Fitch won the Olmsted Falls Invitational.
BELOIT -- The West Branch High volleyball team swept two home matches against City Series opponents Saturday.
The Warriors (15-2) defeated Canton Timken 15-4, 15-10 and Rayen 15-1, 15-0. Timken defeated Rayen in the other match 15-13, 15-13.
For West Branch, Amber Metzgar totaled 27 points and 24 assists, while Jen Weingart added 15 kills and Evelyn Woods eight kills and five blocks.
Rayen (7-8) was led by Brittany Hines with eight points and 18 assists. Timken's record is now 8-8.
Austintown Fitch 15-15, Villa Angela-St. Joseph 4-12
OLMSTED FALLS -- The Falcons won the Olmsted Falls Invitational. In this match, Katie McDermott had 10 points, eight kills, nine blocks and eight digs.
Other contributors included Maggie Case (eight points, 12 kills, two blocks, 13 digs, two aces), Rachel Terzak (six points, five kills, six digs and two aces) and Stacie Mang (21 assists).

OLMSTED FALLS -- McDermott had eight points, five kills, four blocks and five digs; Case had five points, eight kills and 14 digs; Jessica Evans added five points and an ace; Allison Kenney contributed four points, three digs and two aces, and Mang handed out 20 assists.
Austintown Fitch 15-15, Parma Padua 3-9
OLMSTED FALLS -- Terzak had four points and nine kills, while other contributors included McDermott (eight points, four kills, five blocks and three aces), Case (seven points and 18 kills) and Mang (six points, three kills, 29 assists and three aces).
McDermott and Case were named to the all-tournament team, with Case being named MVP. Fitch is now 11-3.
Boardman 15-15, Canton McKinley 11-13
CANTON -- Whitney Tressel scored 11 points and 19 assists for the Spartans. Claire Selius scored 10 points and made four kills and seven digs. Krysta Sylvester had 15 digs and three kills, while Lauren Craig had 11 kills and four blocks.
Boardman 15-15, Canton South 1-9
CANTON -- Jen Hlebovy scored 10 points and made seven kills and seven digs. Jen Feret had nine digs, seven kills and four points, while Jaclyn Corroto had 15 assists and two points for the Spartans (14-2).
Alliance 15-8-15, Poland 9-15-7
ALLIANCE -- Poland (10-5) was led by Dee Muransky with eight blocks and five kills, Steffi Graf with 12 kills and seven digs, Kristen Stanyard with 16 assists and four digs and Amber Kocher with seven points and four kills.
Salem 15-15, Jefferson Area 5-11
SALEM -- Lauren Teal had eight kills, a tip and a block, while Sarah Hamilton had five kills and two blocks for the Quakers. Also for Salem, Megan Sampson added two kills and two tips, while Taylor Hendricks had five kills and a block.
Salem 15-15, Crestview 4-4
SALEM -- In the Quakers' other match, Sampson added three kills and a tip, while Teal had four kills and two tips. Tiffanie Heestand added five kills and a tip, and Hendricks contributed five kills and a tip for Salem (14-4).
