AUSTINTOWN -- Married at 2 p.m. Aug. 24 at St. Joseph Church were Jennifer Vasko, daughter of Edward Vasko, 409 Garfield St., McDonald, and Brian Hixson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hixson of New Middletown.
Deacon Michael Roberts officiated, and a reception was held at the Mahoning Country Club in Girard.
After a honeymoon trip to Virginia, the couple are living in Struthers.
The bride wore a satin A-line gown trimmed with beaded lace. Covered buttons added back interest.
Crystal Scott was maid of honor, and matron of honor was Christine Kukura. They wore lilac gowns, as did the bridesmaids, Tammy Claypoole, the groom's sister; Jen Lewis, his cousin; and Missi Gane. Flower girl was Morgan Claypoole, the groom's niece.
The groom's brother, Mark Hixson, performed the duties of best man, and serving as groomsmen were Eddie Vasko, the bride's brother; Mike Coppola; and Jason and Lenard Lewis, the groom's cousins. Anthony Coppola was ring bearer.
Mrs. Hixson graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Her husband is a driver for Big B Automotive in Youngstown.
