A rundown of planned Halloween festivities:
MAHONING COUNTY
Halloween at the Morley: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 19. Halloween costume competition. At 6 p.m., visit the extinct species graveyard and other surprises, then enter the famous toilet-paper mummy wrap, followed at 6:30 by the Magic and Illusions of Joseph Glenn. Other prizes and surprises will be followed by the costume competition at 7:15 p.m.
Witch Hunt: 2 p.m. Oct. 27. Meet at Mill Creek MetroParks School Recreation Area. On this walk we'll look for "witch Hazel" and witches' broom and visit the Witch's Cave. About 2 miles, medium difficulty with hills.
24th Annual Witch Walk: 7-9 p.m. Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27 in The Woods, in front of Glenwood Middle School. $1 per person. Children 3 and under are free.
Haunted Hayrides: dusk-10 p.m. Oct. 18-20, 25-27 at Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. Adults $5, children 12 and under $3. ($1 discount with proof of residency).
The Great Pumpkin Carve-out Contest: 6-10 p.m. Oct. 11 and noon-10 p.m. Oct. 12, 13 at Boardman Township Park. Bring carving tools and newspapers for cleanup. There will also be bonfire and storytellers, Jocko the Clown, pony rides, sing-along and marshmallow roast and food concessions.
Nightlights: Ward Beecher Planetarium, Youngstown State University. 6 and 8 p.m. Oct. 18; 2, 4, 6, and 8 p.m. Oct. 19; 6, 8 and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 25; 2, 4, 6, and 8 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27; 8 p.m. Oct. 31 (come in costume).
Boardman Haunted House: 7303 Market Street (between Chili's Grill & amp; Bar and Southern Park Mall). Open 6 p.m.-midnight Friday for the weekends and then daily beginning Oct. 18.
Aut Mori Grotto's Haunted Hayride: 7209 W. Calla Road, Canfield. 7-11 p.m. Oct. 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 and 7-9 p.m. Oct. 13 and 20. Adults $4, children 12 and under $2. Group rates available. (330) 793-3303.
Canfield Haunted House and Hayride: Canfield "Scaregrounds." Friday-Sunday, Oct. 10-13, 17-20, 24-27, 31 and 31. 7-10 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays, 7-midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Haunted House: Adults $7.50, ages 6-10, $5. Hayride: Adults $6.50, ages 6-10 $4.
Halloween Town: Yellow Duck Park, 10590 Columbiana-Canfield Road (Route 46), Canfield. Open 7-9 p.m. today and all Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 31. Drive-through admission is $7.50 per person, $5 for children under 10 and free for children under 3. Carload price: $45 for up to 8 people. Hayride is an additional $2 each.
TRUMBULL COUNTY
Halloween Party: St. Rose School Gymnasium, 11 a.m.-noon, Oct. 26. For all Girard and surrounding area children.
Trumbull County Historical Society Second annual Spirits' Buffet: 1807 John Stark Edwards House, 303 Monroe N.W., Warren. Hours for food and tours are 5-6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
COLUMBIANA COUNTY
Halloween Happenings: Detwiler Farm, 4520 Renkenberger Road, Columbiana. Noon-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 27. Hayrides, pumpkin patch, straw maze, cornfield maze, petting zoo, fall decorations, apples and cider.
Petting Zoo and Hayride: Catalpa Grove Farm and Market, one mile west of Columbiana Burger King on state Route 14. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, and 19. Hayrides, pumpkins, corn and straw mazes.
Haunted Hayride: Across from Salem Hills Golf Course, 12751 Salem-Warren Road (Route 45). 7-midnight Saturday, Oct. 12, 19, 26 and 7-10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 20, 27.
MERCER COUNTY
Scarecrows in the Park: Greenville Central Park, Oct. 22-26. Registration, 8:30-4 p.m. weekdays starting Tuesday through Oct. 18 at Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce. Winners will be announced after the Halloween Parade.
Halloween Parade: Parade forms at noon and begins at 1 p.m. Oct. 26. Registration will be at Greenville Medical Center from 10 a.m.-noon (Shenango Street).
Ghoul Mansion and Haunted Maze: Mansion at 66 North Main Street, Downtown Sharon and maze at Quaker Steak & amp; Lube. 7-10 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays, 7-midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Starts Thursday-Sunday, runs Oct. 10, 13, 17-20, 24-27, 30-Nov. 2. Two attractions, one price $10, children under 12, $6.
