Sheperds to mark 50th jubilee at dinner, reception

CANFIELD -- Two anniversary events have been planned in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sheperd, who have lived at 6276 Raccoon Road since their marriage 50 years ago.
The couple will be feted during an open-house reception to be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 6 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Terri and David Niebes in Peachtree City, Ga.
A card shower will take place during a dinner party to be held by their entire family Oct. 12 at the Village Cafe in Fayetteville, Ga.
Joining in the festivities will be their other daughters and their husbands, Cheryl Sheperd and Michael Weedon of Glen Allen, Va., and Barbara and Robert Tillman of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and the couple's 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The former Eunice Tritt and Mr. Sheperd were married Oct. 17, 1952, at the Free Methodist Church in Youngstown. They are members of Canfield United Methodist Church, where Mrs. Sheperd was a choir member for many years. She also was a registered nurse in the Youngstown area prior to retiring.
Mr. Sheperd retired in 1985 after being employed as a rural mail carrier with the Canfield post office for 33 years. He is member of Canfield High School Hall of Fame, and for more than 30 years he has been a member of the Ruritans and a scorekeeper for basketball and football games at the high school.
