IAAP CHAPTER Yo-Mah-O awards scholarships



The club also marked its 56th anniversary.
NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Two $1000 scholarships were awarded when Yo-Mah-O Chapter, International Association of Administrative Professionals, met Sept. 10 at Fonderlac Country Club to celebrate the organization's 56th anniversary.
Barbara Sofranec presided for the event, and the invocation was given by Joan Battagline.
Recipients of the scholarships were Alicia Traylor of Carey and Theresa Lenhart of Conneaut.
Traylor is studying integrated business education at Youngstown State University. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and participates in Centurions, a mentoring program, with Dr. Glenda Kumar.
Lenhart also is studying integrated business education at YSU. She belongs to Golden Key, National Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi and Omicron Delta Kappa.
The scholarship presentations were made by Bonnie Filipovich, scholarship committee chairman. Her committee members are Kim Peachock and Marie C. Sammartino.
Other business
Members recognized for recently passing the Certified Professional Secretary and Certified Administrative Professional examinations were Thomas Franklin (CPS) and Judy Cundik, H. Marlene Dailey, Mary Lynn Pavone, Christine Simone and Sofranec (CAP).
Honored for 50 years of membership were Helen Kopsco, Irene Sharkey and Peg Davis. Past presidents in attendance also were recognized.
