Man accused of assaulting ex-girlfriend, another woman



FARRELL, Pa. -- Police arrested a man from Florence Street, Sharon, in attacks on two women.
Police accuse Michael Crawford, 20, of assaulting a 35-year-old woman with a flashlight in the 900 block of Hamilton Avenue and of forcing his way into the home of his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend in the 700 block of Federal Street and attempting to sexually assault her.
Police said they caught up with Crawford shortly after the attacks in an alley between the 1100 blocks of Emerson and Hamilton avenues shortly around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday.
The 35-year-old woman was treated at UPMC Horizon for facial injuries. The 27-year-old woman was hit several times but didn't seek medical attention, police said.
Crawford is charged with burglary, two counts of aggravated assault, and single counts of recklessly endangering another person, aggravated indecent assault, and criminal attempt to commit rape.
At his arraignment, District Justice Henry Russo ordered Crawford held in Mercer County Jail on $20,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing.
