United's old bricksavailable for pick-up
HANOVERTON -- Old paving bricks from the stadium walkway are available to be picked up during school hours Monday through Friday or after the home varsity football game against East Palestine, the United Local athletic department announced.
The recently replaced bricks may be picked up in the fenced-in area behind the concession stand.
Thiel linemanplayer of week
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- After posting four solo tackles -- including two for a loss -- and a sack in Thiel's 37-6 victory over Bluffton, sophomore Chris Minton (Seneca Valley) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference defensive player of the week.
Thiel, which limited Bluffton to 200 total yards, plays host to Washington & amp; Jefferson Saturday.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Slippery Rock senior wide receiver and team tri-captain Ryan McKavish (Ebensburg) was named an honorable mention offensive player of the week by D2football.com.
McKavish had eight receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns in SRU's 45-0 win over Fairmont State (W.Va.).
In three games this season, McKavish, a Central Cambria graduate, has 16 catches for 261 yards.
Tammy Newell named by PAC
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Tammy Newell (Hubbard), a senior forward for Westminster, was named Presidents' Athletic Conference women's soccer player of the week for the second time in a row. Newell had two goals in a 5-0 victory over Heidelberg.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Colin Clemente, a junior at John F. Kennedy High, recently shot a 30 at the Bedford Trails golf course, which was both a course and school record. In addition, to his accomplishments, Clemente also broke the tournament record in the Cardinal Classic at Mill Creek Park when he shot a 69.

CLEVELAND -- Tickets for the Cleveland Cavaliers home games at Gund Arena will go on sale Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at TicketMaster outlets.
The Cavs' home opener will be Nov. 5 versus the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tickets range from $75 to $10 plus service charges.
