GUILFORD LAKE -- In conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, Hanover Township and Winona volunteer fire departments will host an open house and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Ruritan building, state Route 172. There will be a display of fire equipment including Jaws of Life, air bags and turnout gear. Weather permitting, a medical helicopter will be on display. Also available will be a soup and salad luncheon featuring chili, vegetable and bean soups, tossed salad, beverage and dessert. Meals cost $5 and takeouts will be available.
Class makes pledge
YOUNGSTOWN -- Leadership Mahoning Valley Class of 2002 has pledged to raise $25,000 toward the Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties Easter Seals Head Start infants and toddlers play space and will also help set up the playground equipment as its class project.
