Sept. 16
Theft: Someone stole a U.S. flag and flagpole from the front yard of a residence in the 400 block of Gardenwood Avenue.
Criminal damaging: Someone broke part of a double-pane window at Kaleel Bros. Inc., 761 Bev Road.
Bogus check: An employee at a Shell gas station, 998 E. Western Reserve Road, reported a $91.15 check returned on a closed account.
Theft: A North Lima woman reported a total of 12 credit cards and an Ohio operator's license stolen or missing.
Possible auto theft: An employee at Enterprise Rent-a-Car Inc., 7375 Market St., reported someone rented a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer and failed to return it.
Warrant: A 39-year-old Youngstown man was arrested at the Microtel Inn, 7393 South Ave., on an intimidation charge.
Sept. 17
Drug abuse: After a traffic stop, a 20-year-old Hubbard man was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse after police found a suspected marijuana pipe, papers used to roll marijuana and a half-ounce of suspected marijuana in the car.
Arrests: After stopping a suspected stolen car, a 46-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon after police found a machete wedged between the vehicle's front seats. He also was held on charges of receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and parole violation. Also, a passenger who fled on foot was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
Warrant: Police arrested a 56-year-old Youngstown man on a domestic violence charge.
Theft: A bag containing $1,243 was discovered missing from LA Weight Loss Center, 926 Boardman-Poland Road.
Bogus checks: An employee at the Springfield Grille, 7413 Tiffany Blvd., reported four returned checks written on a closed account.
Breaking and entering: A woman in the 5200 block of Trotter Avenue reported a man entered her residence through an unlocked front door.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue reported a 47-year-old man slashed all four of her vehicle's tires and broke its windshield.
Arrest: A 44-year-old Youngstown woman was arrested on various traffic charges.
Theft/drugs: Police arrested a 26-year-old Niles woman after nine packs of cigarettes were stolen from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road. She also was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments after police found a syringe containing suspected heroin residue in her purse.

Theft: An employee at Dollar General discount store, 5953 South Ave., alleged a former worker stole $17,213 from the store's safe over a four-day period.
Fraud: A woman in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue reported someone stole her Visa debit card and used it to fraudulently purchase various merchandise.
Theft: An AM-FM compact disc player was stolen from a car in the 100 block of Washington Avenue. The vehicle had damage to its passenger-side door lock and molding, the center console and an overhead light.
Bogus check: Someone paid for a pair of shoes at Payless Shoesource, 48 Boardman-Poland Road, with a check drawn on a closed account.
Burglary: Someone broke into a residence in the 600 block of Cathy Ann Drive and stole a gold wristwatch, gold cufflinks and two gold rings.
Warrant: Police arrested a 20-year-old man on a charge of failure to appear in court.
Warrant: A 45-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on a Struthers warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.

Theft: An AM-FM CD stereo was stolen from a car, which had damage to its dashboard, trunk lock, dome light and gear shift knob, in the 100 block of Washington Boulevard.
Theft: An investigator at Abercrombie & amp; Fitch in the Southern Park Mall discovered $3,158 in cash missing.
Assault: A Ravenna man reported being assaulted at a residence in the 7900 block of Aquadale Drive.
Theft: About $2,664 in cash was stolen from the Hollister Co. in the Southern Park Mall.
Deception: A man in the 7700 block of Amberwood Trail reported he paid for various services that were never performed.
Theft: A vehicle's driver's-side door window and door lock were damaged, and a battery cable was cut in the 7500 block of Market Street. Also, 50 CDs and a CD carrying case were removed from another vehicle. A third car had damage to a portion of metal around its door lock, and a plastic flashlight was removed from it.
Burglary: Someone broke into a residence in the 600 block of Squirrel Hill Drive and damaged a door, lock and frame to the home.
Assault: Police arrested a 16-year-old Boardman male juvenile on one count each of assault and criminal damaging after a man said the suspect shot at him with a pellet gun.
Criminal damaging: Someone entered a vehicle in the 7500 block of Market Street and tampered with its dashboard and dome light.

Theft: A 42-year-old Warren man was arrested on a theft charge after police say he tried to steal a videocassette recorder from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Drugs: After pulling over his vehicle for a traffic violation, police arrested a 55-year-old Boardman man on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after finding suspected crack cocaine and suspected drug paraphernalia inside.
Theft: Police arrested a 27-year-old Youngstown man and a 22-year-old Struthers woman on a charge of grand theft after the pair admitted taking more than $1,000 each from their employers.
Bogus check: Someone wrote a $22 check at Wicks 'n' Sticks in the Southern Park Mall on a closed account.
Theft/drugs: Police arrested a 46-year-old Youngstown man on a theft charge after an employee at Value City Furniture, 443 Boardman-Poland Road, said the man took $20 from the store's deposits. He also was charged with possession of drugs after police found a Vicodin ES tablet in his possession.
Criminal damaging: Someone damaged the passenger-side door lock of a car parked in the 7500 block of Market Street.
Theft: Three hubcaps were removed from a vehicle in the 4100 block of Arden Boulevard.
Theft: About $65 was stolen from Afterthoughts in the Southern Park Mall.
Drugs: Police arrested a 46-year-old Youngstown man on several drug charges after they found a hypodermic syringe with suspected heroin residue, two suspected crack pipes and other suspected drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Criminal damaging: Someone damaged a sliding glass door to a residence in the 6300 block of Tara Court.
Auto theft: A 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from the parking lot in the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damaging: Someone tossed eggs at a vehicle in the 4100 block of Shelby Avenue.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 4000 block of Cascade Drive reported someone threw four eggs at his residence.

Vandalism: A car's front driver's-side tire was flattened and several scratches were found in its paint while it was parked in the 4600 block of Euclid Boulevard.
Criminal damaging: A truck's passenger-side window was damaged in the 100 block of Redwood Trail.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle had scratches on its paint in the 600 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.
Theft: After being invited into a residence in the 3900 block of Arden Boulevard, two men left after stealing $70.
Theft: Police arrested two Cleveland women, ages 21 and 23, on a theft charge after more than $1,600 worth of clothing was stolen from Dilliard's department store in the Southern Park Mall.

Warrant: After investigating a domestic dispute in the 7300 block of Bonnie Place, police arrested a 33-year-old Boardman woman on charges of failure to appear in court and theft.
Possible breaking and entering: A man in the 2000 block of Wolosyn Circle reported his apartment door was standing open when he returned.
Theft: A plastic mailbox was removed from the front yard of a residence in the 7600 block of East Parkside Drive.
Robbery: A woman reported someone stole her purse while she was in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Theft: A 25-year-old Youngstown woman was arrested on a theft charge after various items for infants were stolen from Dilliard's.
Criminal damaging: Someone used a BB gun to break a window at a residence in the 1100 block of Shields Road.
Warrant: Police arrested a 19-year-old Boardman man on Shields Road and charged him with failure to appear in court and criminal damaging.
Vandalism: Someone used rocks to break damage two windows to a building in the 5000 block of Market Street.
Theft: An in-dash CD player and a pack of cigarettes were taken from a vehicle in the 7000 block of Tiffany Boulevard. The driver's-side door lock and paint were damaged.
Theft: An AM-FM CD player and 60 CDs with a CD case were stolen in the Perkins restaurant parking lot, 804 Boardman-Poland Road.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 37-year-old Niles man on a domestic violence charge after the woman he was living with said he assaulted her.
