JENNIFER BIRKEYCHAD UHLMAN
PENINSULA -- The Church in the Valley in Cuyahoga Valley National Park was the setting at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 24 for the wedding of Jennifer Lynne Birkey and Chad Michael Uhlman.
The Rev. John Fisk officiated for the daughter of Arlene Birkey of Akron and the son of David and Beverly Uhlman, 703 Cambridge Ave., Youngstown.
A reception followed at Todaro's Party Center in Akron.
A sleeveless A-line gown embroidered with flowers and trimmed with pearls was worn by the bride. It featured a detachable train.
Jacki LaMonica of Akron and Cari Kommel of Beloit were honor attendants. They wore yellow gowns, as did the bridesmaids, Kate Wagar of Creston, Lisa Piazza of Middleburg Heights, Courtney Laser of Uniontown and the groom's sister, Carissa Uhlman of Newark.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's father, and groomsmen were Joseph Stewart and Frank Kotouch, both of Youngstown; Brad Skidmore of Akron; and Steve Gallant and Travis Stamp, both of Canfield.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Akron, Mrs. Uhlman holds a bachelor's degree in nursing and is a registered nurse at Cuyahoga General Hospital, Akron, and the Cleveland Clinic.
Her husband is a state sales manager with N.Q.I. Inc. in Lake Milton. He holds an associate degree from Triangle Technical School in Pittsburgh.
The couple honeymooned in the Bahamas and are living in Akron.
