ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOWS
XChampion Christian Church will sponsor its Apple Butter Festival and Arts and Crafts Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church, 151 Center St. West, Champion. Attractions will include kettle-cooked apple butter, arts and crafts, demonstrations by the Mahoning Valley Woodcarvers, games and lunch.
XUnited Parent-Teacher Organization will hold its annual craft show and kids corner from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at United Local Junior High School, 8143 state Route 9, Hanoverton. Those interested in setting up a craft table should call Cindy Sluss at (330) 222-2554.

AUCTIONS
XNorth Bloomfield Civic Club will hold a Chinese auction Friday at the North Bloomfield High School. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is $3 and includes entry and a door-prize ticket. Extra tickets are 10 for $1.
XRotary Club of Warren will sponsor its 2002 Community Auction Nov. 16 at W.D. Packard Music Hall, Warren. A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. along with hors d'oeuvres and cash bar. Dinner will be served at 7 and the live auction will start at 9. The cost is $50 a person, $270 for table of six and $450 for table of 10. Proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club of Warren Foundation, which assists various projects including Children's Rehabilitation Center, the Fine Arts Council, Riverwalk Project and the Kinsman House. BAZAARS
XWomen's Fellowship of First Federated Church, 10786 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson, will sponsor a turkey dinner, bazaar and country store Oct. 4 at the church. Serving hours for the dinner are from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3.50 for children from 5-12 and free for those 4 and younger. The menu includes mashed potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls, bread and dessert. Tickets will be sold at the door. The bazaar and country store will be open from 1 to 7.
FASHION SHOWS
XGatekeepers Usher Ministry of Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church will hold its fourth annual Bumblebee Tea and Style Show at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Renaissance Center (formerly Southside Hospital), 345 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. The theme for the show will be "Elegance in the Afternoon," and tickets for the catered event are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. FUND-RAISERS
XAmerican Diabetes Association will sponsor America's Walk for Diabetes Oct. 6 at Canfield Fairgrounds, 7265 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Route 46, Canfield. Walkers should register at 9 a.m., and the walk will begin at 10. There are various distances for walkers. The event includes continental breakfast, T-shirts for those raising $100 or more, other prizes, warm-up exercises, pizza lunch, '50s-themed rest stops and goody bags. Funds benefit national research programs and patient and support programs in the Youngstown area. XLogan's Heroes Relay for Life Team will sponsor a sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1160 Keefer Road, Liberty Township. XSt. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, will hold its second annual social and benefit in honor of Sister Jacquelyn Henry, who served as principal of St. Joseph School from 1983-88. XThe 13th annual For 'R' Kids Steak Fry and Family Fun Day, sponsored by the VanSickle Foundation, is planned from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Maronite Center Pavilion, Youngstown. There will be entertainment, games and food. The foundation helps families of children with special needs. To receive funds, all other avenues of assistance must be exhausted. XCardinal Mooney Alumni Association will hold a Pigskin Party at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mahoning Valley Restaurant, 410 N. Walnut St., Youngstown. The event, which will precede the Mooney-Fitch football game at 7:30 at Youngstown State University stadium, will include entertainment, raffles, prizes and performances by the school's band and cheerleaders. RUMMAGE SALES

SHOWS
XLadies Aid Society of the Delightful Evangelical Congregational Church will sponsor its 29th annual quilt show from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the church, 2473 Barclay Messerly Road, Southington. The theme this year is "Let There Be Peace on Earth." Blue ribbon winners from last year will be on display, and voting for this year's entries takes place until 5 p.m. Categories are hand-sewn quilts, machine quilts, afghans, baby quilts, baby afghans, wall hangings and cross stitch.
